I have been working on some projects as examples for the Students for the projects from this last semester. They were required to work on a thrown item. And item with

Check out potter Robin Hopper showing us how to make one of his altered thrown Vases.
Mixing Slab and Throwing
Check out this cool video where potter Laura Ross demonstrates how to make a unique baking dish using wheel throwing and slab building techniques. I have tried this method 4 times now and have learned quite a bit about technique. You should definitely try this as a cool way to make interesting forms without having to trim your pots.
